Latest News - March 2010

  • Bob will be giving the keynote presentation at the SSAT "Why wait for BSF?" conference on the 2nd March and also presenting 2 workshops with Kristian Still from the digital leaders project on next generation learning.
  • The following day Bob will be the guest of Futurelab at the "Building Future Spaces" event in the morning and then the Becta National Advisory Board in the afternoon.
  • Employment Tribunals are on the 5th and 18th
  • Toshiba are sponsoring the Becta Next Generation Learning Awards on the evening of the 8th at the ICC and is hosting the Becta FE and Skills conference the following day.
  • The 11/12th see Bob facilitating the BSF Leadership programme for Sefton and the Naace conference on the 17/18thin Blackpool with Lostock College and Northern College Governors in the same week.
  • More BSF leadership training on the 24/5th will also be followed by Trainee Headteacher coaching during what will be a busy March for Bob.

The past six years have seen an explosion of mobile and wireless technologies since social entrepeneur Graham Brown-Martin first pulled together a small but growing network of educationists and technologists at Goldsmith College for the inaugural Handheld Learning conference.

US study raises tough issues for new-builds policy PDF Print E-mail

One of the first things President Obama did on taking office was to announce the closure of the controversial Guantanamo Bay prison. A less reported action was his decision to double expenditure on technology in education.

Now Evaluation of Evidence-Based Practices in Online Learning: A Meta-Analysis and Review of Online Learning Studies, a study by the US Department of Education, suggests he made the right decision.
